Hello. I am Harper, a transfemme historian currently studying at university. I am in my third year pursuing a bachelors in history.
My interests specifically cover:
| Arctic exploration during the Eighteenth to early Nineteenth century. |
| Pax Britannica and colonialism. |
| Romanticism and its ties to colonialism and imperialism. |
| How mythology and stories shape modern societies and their dominance. |
My least favorite part of the semester (besides finals season) is doing icebreakers. This page is no different. I would much
rather talk and write about my interests than have to talk about myself and my own history. After all, history is all about
highlighting and analyzing what is foreign to the individual. If I analyzed myself, it would just be a biography, and that's
not interesting, is it?
When it comes to design, I perfer minimalist and vintage design. Sleek and clean, products and information are able to
showcase clear utility and purpose without the disturbance of outside forces. My favorite car is the 1993 Volvo 240, and my
favorite website is a Canadian cartography database. The straightforward nature of these objects are aesthetically appealling
to me in a way which I can not explain. The design of this webpage is deliberate in the invocation of the afformentioned website.
I also take photos sometimes.
